Dyslexia Tutoring and Therapy Program

What is Dyslexia?

Many parents express concerns about their kids suffering from dyslexia, which is why it is important to thoroughly understand dyslexia. Dyslexia is a learning disorder characterized by problems in identifying speech sounds and how they relate to letters and words. At Kivato, our Dyslexia Tutoring ensures that both students and parents know about the symptoms of Dyslexia and how to mitigate them.

How our Dyslexia tutoring helps with the Blue Book Method

At Kivato, we encourage our students to identify the phonics in words they read through our Dyslexia Tutoring . For example, ‘c’ sounds like ‘ka’ in ‘cat’, or the ‘s’ and then a ‘k’ sound in the word ‘cycle’.

Through Blue Book method, our dyslexia tutors make students focus on phonics and the way words are spelled. Our dyslexia tutors conduct reading and writing practices in a “rhythmic pattern.” This looks like providing writing assignments for students with the primary objective of practice and memory. This method allows Kivato to incorporate handwriting development into a complete language practice, establishing stronger foundational skills for students.

At Dyslexia Tutoring Kivato, we want to ensure that your child gets the best educational experience possible. To that end, we provide assignments geared towards improving their reading and writing skills beyond their tutoring sessions.

Dyslexia is Just Like Having Blue or Brown Eyes

Dyslexia is a genetic trait passed from parents or relatives to the future generations. Consequently, this means that your family has carried the genes responsible for dyslexia should your child have it. Although someone may not have dyslexia, they can still carry those genes which can be passed onto children.

It is important that families understand that dyslexia is not something they can control, nor can they prevent. However, educating ourselves about dyslexia can help us better understand how the disorder manifests itself and how to prepare to deal with it.

Let’s Say ‘Yes’ to Writing

Dyslexia TutoringDyslexia Tutoring at Kivato understands that every student comes with their specific needs and proficiencies. Our dyslexia tutors understand that dyslexic students struggle with writing due to their motor skills and memory.

At Kivato, we want our students to be confident with writing and resolve any issues they may experience with writing, which is why we use a curriculum geared towards building fundamental writing skills. We do our best to address specific issues that students with dyslexia experience, including an unusual body posture like leaning to one side, lying across the desk, or altering posture as they write across the page.
